Motherwell boss Steven Hammell is hoping to seal a deal for Fleetwood Town striker Gerard Garner, according to reports.
The Steelmen - who have been linked with a swoop to bring Tony Watt back to Fir Park on loan from Dundee United - are keen to bolster their striking options further, following the capture of Frenchman Mikael Mandron, who was previously with Gillingham.
And Hammell is said to be looking down south for his next target, with Garner one of "several options on the go", according to the Scottish Daily Express.
They report that the 24-year-old would "command a five figure fee" for boss and former Celtic star Scott Brown to let him go.
During the window Motherwell have brought in three fresh faces so far with Japanese attacking midfielder Riku Danzaki and English winger Olly Crankshaw, on loan from Stockport County, joining Mandron at Fir Park.
