Christine McVie's cause of death has been confirmed after she sadly passed away in November last year.

The iconic Fleetwood Mac singer was just 79-years-old when she died in hospital, with her family releasing a statement at the time that saddened fans all across the globe.

At the time, her family released a statement saying: "It is with a heavy heart we are informing you of Christine’s death. She passed away peacefully at hospital this morning, Wednesday, November 30, 2022, following a short illness.

"She was in the company of her family."

And now, six months on from her death, it has now been revealed that Christine died after suffering a stroke.

Although the singer was previously diagnosed with cancer, an 'ischaemic stroke' was confirmed as the cause of death.

"She was the best musician anyone could have in their band and the best friend anyone could have in their life. We are so lucky to have a life with her. Individually and together, we cherished Christine deeply and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. She will be so very missed - Fleetwood Mac."
