The wait for waves at the Rio Pro has stretched into a fourth lay-day, with organisers hopeful of resuming competition at Saquarema's Praia de Itauna within 24 hours.
The window for the competition remains open until Saturday July 1.
"Once again we have very small waves and it is almost flat," said WSL Director of Tours and Competition, Renato Hickel.
"We're hopeful that we'll finally see some larger swell fill in by tomorrow and we'll be able to run some heats."
World No.4 Ethan Ewing, Ryan Callinan and Liam O'Brien all won their opening heats while a number of Australians are scheduled to face the elimination round.
Current world No.6 Jack Robinson is in a sudden-death showdown with Seth Moniz for a place in the round of 16 while Connor O'Leary also faces a Hawaiian in Ian Gentil.
Callum Robson has drawn Japanese star Kanoa Igarashi, who made the WSL Finals last year.
Half of the elimination round in the women's event was completed before competition was called off with former rankings leader Molly Picklum among those left waiting.
Now ranked world No.4, Picklum faces a must-win heat against France's Johanne Defay.
World No.2 Tyler Wright, who won the Rio event in 2017, eased into the quarter-finals while eight-time world champion Stephanie Gilmore was knocked out on the opening day.
