Fix gun licensing system to prevent further killings, inspectors say

Problems with the gun licensing system are putting public safety at risk, official inspectors have warned.

The firearms licensing system across England and Wales is not fit for purpose, creating a "postcode lottery" in the level of scrutiny applied to applicants and certificate holders, His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) stated.
