Five ways to keep kids happy as new research reveals worrying wellbeing decline

An increasing amount of research is suggesting that the global pandemic appears to have had a significant impact on our kids’ wellbeing.

Around one in eight children aged 10-15 were unhappy with school in 2019-20, according to data analysed by The Children’s Society, and six percent were unhappy with their lives overall. Is this just a hangover from the pandemic or is there something else at play here?

In Scotland the ' Are the kids alright? ' review was released in June, showing that a 'substantial' proportion of children sampled have been negatively impacted by the pandemic, according to parents and carers. The surveys received responses from parents and carers of 5,895 children aged 0 to 11 years in Scotland.
