Todd Boehly is set to spend big on a striker in the January transfer window with Armando Broja out for the season, according to reports. The 20-year-old is expected to be out for at least the remainder of the season after learning that he needs surgery to fix a ruptured cruciate ligament in his right knee, football.london understands.
He screamed in pain following a collision with Ezri Konsa in Chelsea's mid-season friendly against Aston Villa. Broja, who looked to be in considerable pain, was seen to be clutching his leg as he was tended to by medical staff before eventually being stretchered off.
The Albania international will begin his rehabilitation programme soon, though he could be out of action for a minimum of five months and a maximum of 12. This leaves the Blues little to no choice but to delve into the market for a new striker in the January transfer window.
