Five people were rushed to hospital after a serious crash in Sale this evening. The emergency services were called to Ashton Lane at 9.30pm following a collision involving two vehicles.
One person was cut from a car. The fire service said five people were injured in total and taken to hospital for treatment.
Firefighters remain at the scene as work continues. Police and the ambulance service are also said to be in attendance.

A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At around 9.30pm on Saturday 11 February, firefighters were called out to a road traffic collision on Ashton Lane, Sale. Two fire engines from Sale and Altrincham fire stations attended the scene where two cars had collided.
"One person was extricated from a vehicle by firefighters and five casualties involved have all been taken to hospital. Firefighters remain at the scene.”
The M.E.N. has approached Greater Manchester Police for comment.
