Five holiday destinations the UK will be hotter than this weekend

  • The UK is poised for a sweltering bank holiday weekend, with temperatures forecast to climb to 30C, potentially marking the hottest day of the year to date.
  • Met Office forecaster Tom Morgan highlighted a 40 per cent chance that parts of southern England could experience temperatures reaching 33C on Sunday. Such a rise would surpass the existing May record of 32.8C, established in 1922.
  • London, meanwhile, is preparing for its own potential warmest day of the year, with forecasts predicting 28C by Friday.
  • Across the weekend, temperatures across the UK are anticipated to outstrip those in popular holiday destinations such as Ibiza , Hawaii , Zante , Malaga and Crete .
  • Wales could also meet official heatwave criteria by Sunday, while Scotland and Northern Ireland are forecast to see temperatures climb into the mid-20s next week.
