Rebekah Vardy spoke about her emotional turmoil as she gave her first full interview since losing the Wagatha Christie case.
The WAG, 40, broke down in tears as she spoke about the toll on her mental health, how her marriage has become stronger and plans to return to the public eye better than ever on TalkTV on Wednesday night.
Rebekah maintained her innocence in the publicised High Court libel battle which saw her defeated by rival WAG Coleen Rooney.
Vardy took the 36-year-old to court in May over the 2019 Instagram post where Coleen accused her Instagram account of leaking stories about her personal life to the press.
Speaking in today's interview, Rebekah had a string of admissions and confessions, which included how she nearly passed out when she heard the news and how lucrative offers have been flooding in.
Her initial reaction to Coleen's post
During today's interview, Rebekah admitted she nearly passed out on hearing about the Wagatha Christie post from her friends.
She was in Dubai at the time with her husband Jamie Vardy on a holiday celebrating the upcoming arrival of their baby, and described her emotions at hearing about the viral post.
"There was overwhelming dizziness and disbelief at what I was reading," she said. The pair of them headed to a bar, but quickly she realised she needed to get out there, Jamie helping her through it all.
She added: "It was so traumatic, I can't remember. Jamie had to get me out quickly, I thought I was going to pass out."
'The judge got it wrong'
In her chat with TalkTV's Kate McCann, Rebekah gave her opinion on the verdict for the first time.
"I didn't expect it to go that way," she said, "The judge didn't understand the case."
Rebekah also hit back at the judge's opinion that she shouldn't have taken it to court. Mrs Justice Steyn gave her opinion on the case when she dismissed Rebekah's account of what happened, insisting she "clearly" knew of, condoned and engaged in leaking information to the press through her agent Caroline Watt.
She said some of the evidence Rebekah gave was "not credible" whilst describing Coleen as an "honest and reliable witness".
Rebekah continued to deny she was involved in ever leaking the stories out, adding: "I wouldn't have pursued this as long as I had I wasn't sure I hadn't leaked any stories to the press."
Hospital trips and fears for unborn baby
The Wagatha Christie case was the talk of the town, and in her chat, Rebekah shared how she felt isolated throughout the three year long legal battle, but she insists she is to blame for that.
"Being pregnant made it worse, my emotions were stronger, I had to try protect her baby," she said, as she explained how doctors warned her she was going to go into pre-term labour from the stress of the case.
She also admitted she has since seen a counsellor over what had happened, as she revealed she was on medication because of her horrible anxiety attacks as a result.
Rebekah also said there was probably a good chance she’d have to go back on tablets, as she explained how she even went into hospital a number of times as a result.
How her kids coped with it
Rebekah has been open about how the accusation and trial took a toll on her. During tonight's interview, she admitted the horrifying abuse her children received as a result of the high profile case.
She recalled how her kids were driven to school with bin bags on the car windows because of the paparazzi nearby, as she explained it was difficult for her eldest child in particular. She tried to reassure her it would all be ok.
"Some people will like you some people won’t," she recalled telling her daughter, as she admits focusing on her children helped to pull her out of the darkest days and she's grateful for them.
Her return to the spotlight
Rebekah explained in the interview how she is refusing to bow out from the spotlight after what happened.
Whilst she explained she would be taking a different approach to life, she admitted she wanted to do different things - like spend time with her horses and her kids, as she felt she had missed out a lot of that during the trial.
She also said she would be rechannelling and refocusing and putting her energy into positive things.
Following the end of the court case, Rebekah shared a statement, which read: "I am extremely sad and disappointed at the decision that the Judge has reached. It is not the result that I had expected, nor believe was just. I brought this action to vindicate my reputation and am devastated by the Judge’s finding.
"The judge accepted that publication of Coleen's Post was not in the 'public interest' and she also rejected her claim that I was the 'Secret Wag'. But as for the rest of her judgement, she got it wrong and this is something I cannot accept."
She added: "As I explained in my evidence I, my family and even my unborn baby, were subjected to disgusting messages and vile abuse following Coleen’s Post and these have continued even during the course of the trial. Please can the people who have been abusing me and my family now stop. The case is over. I want to thank everyone who has supported me."
