Johnny Depp took to the stand on Wednesday as his defamation trial against ex wife Amber Heard nears its end.
The former couple have been locked in a bitter lawsuit as the Pirates of the Caribbean star is suing Amber for $50 million for allegedly defaming him in an article for The Washington Post in 2018 where she said she was a victim of domestic abuse.
Depp isn’t mentioned by name in the op-ed, but his legal team has argued that it contains a “clear implication that Mr Depp is a domestic abuser”, which it says is “categorically and demonstrably false”.
He has repeatedly and consistently denied the allegations, but now Heard has also launched her own case and is suing her ex-husband for $100 million, writes the Mirror.
The case has intensified after both Depp and ex-girlfriend Kate Moss took to the stand to answer questions in court.
Here we look over the biggest bombshells.
Kate Moss denies rumours Depp pushed her down stairs
Fans of supermodel Kate Moss hailed her as a "Queen" as she gave evidence at the trial via a location in Gloucestershire.
The British star denied Heard's allegations that Depp had pushed her down stairs during their relationship, and told the court: "No, he never pushed me, kicked me or pushed me down any stairs.
Prior to her statement, Moss explained how she had fallen down the stairs during a holiday with Depp and revealed it was the actor who picked her up and helped her get medical attention.
'Heard turned Moss fall into ugly incident in her mind,' says Depp
Following Moss' denial that Depp had pushed her, the actor, 58, took to the stand to agree with her statement.
He told the court: "I remember looking and seeing Kate coming out the door... and she slipped... she was obviously physically in pain. She was hurt, she was crying, so I ran over and grabbed her to make sure she was all right.
"That's it... that's the whole story... I'd never heard a rumour of that before Ms Heard grabbed hold of it."
Heard's abuse images 'modified'
Photos which Amber Heard claimed showed marks on her skin caused by Johnny Depp's physical abuse were called into doubt by digital forensics expert Bryan Neumeister.
The court was shown a video of Heard with a red face. However, it showed how different versions of the same picture could be "treated two different ways", Neumeister told the court.
He said that Photo 3.0 software had been used to edit the photo so that the second photo "looks quite a bit different" from the first.
Depp claims Heard gave him black eye on honeymoon
Depp claimed to the court that Heard punched him in 2015 when the pair were on their honeymoon.
While previous events from the holiday focused on allegations Depp had hit his ex, he took to the stand and claimed it was the other way round.
He said there were some points of the trip which were "agreeable" but there were other times when Amber would "start the rant".
He continued: "At one point... I don't remember it lasting long... I took a pretty good shot to the face, to the eye... so I had a bit of a shiner.
"It all ended and then everything got fine again."
Depp calls Heard's accusations 'insane'
During his time on the stand, Depp was asked what it was like to have listened to the claims made by Amber during her testimony.
After a long pause, he told the court: "Insane."
He continued: "It's insane to hear heinous accusations of violence, sexual violence, that she's attributed to me, that she's accused me of.
"I don't think anyone enjoys having to split themselves open and tell the truth, but there are times when one just simply has to because it's gotten out of control."
Later he added how he felt and said after another pause: "Horrible. Ridiculous. Humiliating. Ludicrous. Painful. Savage. Unimaginably brutal, cruel, and all… false. All false.
"I wanted… No human being is perfect, certainly not, none of us, but I have never in my life committed sexual battery, physical abuse, all these outlandish, outrageous stories of me committing these things, and living with it for six years and waiting to be able to bring the truth out."
The trial continues
