Former Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has labelled Leeds United winger Raphinha as his ideal summer signing for the Reds. Jurgen Klopp’s side have been reportedly interested in the Brazilian for almost a year now following his excellent form at Elland Road.
Raphinha has proven to be an excellent purchase for Leeds following their promotion to the Premier League in 2020, as he netted six goals and provided nine assists in his debut season. He has then built on that with nine goals and three assists this term, with his performances during the first half of the campaign almost single-handedly keeping the Whites out of the relegation zone.
However, due to his good performances, speculation surrounding his future has intensified in recent months, particularly given that talks over a new deal in West Yorkshire appear to have hit an impasse. Barcelona are also reportedly very keen on him this summer and will almost certainly make a major play for him if Ousmane Dembele does not sign a new contract at the Camp Nou.
