First-time buyers in parts of Britain are facing a significant surge in asking prices, with some areas experiencing nearly a fifth increase over the past year, new analysis reveals.
Property website Rightmove, which excluded London from its study, identified Bridlington in Yorkshire and St Helens in Merseyside as leading hotspots.
