First picture of 'much loved' dad who died after being hit by bus

The family of a dad who died after being hit buy a bus have described him as having a "big impact on everyone he met."

Norman Rigby was hit by a bus on Canal Street, near to the Bridgewater Complex, in Bootle, at around 3.55pm on Monday, November 7. Emergency services, including police, ambulance crews and fire service, rushed to the scene but the 63-year-old was pronounced dead in hospital a short time later.

In tributes online, Mr Rigby has been described as a "top bloke" with hundreds also sharing their condolences to his family.

Norman's family said: "Norman was much loved by his family. He has a big impact on everyone he met and was definitely a character not easily forgotten. He leaves behind his heart-broken wife, son and brothers."

Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson from our Matrix Roads Policing Unit said: "Our sincere condolences go out to the family and we will be supporting them in the coming days after this tragic incident. Enquiries continue and we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or captured anything on dashcam or other devices.
