First picture of 16-year-old girl from Cumbernauld who died in M73 crash

A 16-year-old girl from Cumbernauld, who died following a crash on the M73 last Saturday, has been named by police.

Sophie Laing was sat in the rear seat when two cars collided on the northbound carriageway near the Gartcosh junction at around 1.30pm on January 28.

She was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she sadly succumbed to her injuries.
