First look at Netflix's You series four as Joe sets his sights on new subjects

Netflix have given a first look at serious four of their psychological thriller, You.

Joe Goldberg - played by Penn Badgley - has been forced to flee to Europe after everything went up in his flames in his previous life.

As he bids to escape his messy past, he adopts a new identity and is on the look out for true love.

However, as he heads into London, he finds himself in a new role as an almost 'detective' when he realises he might not be the only killer in London.

He needs to identify and stop who's targeting his new friends, a group of wealthy socialites, before it's too late.

First look images from the upcoming series, which debuts in two parts. The first part will air from February 9th, whilst the second part will be broadcasted on the streaming service a month later on March 9th.

A teaser released earlier this year revealed Joe's a changed man now he's in London.

"I'm not the lovable bookstore manager in New York or the shop clerk in LA, or the doting husband in the suburbs," he says, "Allow me to introduce myself. I've gone through a bit of refinement upon crossing the pond.

"And living in London has allowed me to bury the past. Gone are the days of unrequited love and longing. No, this time around I'm focusing on academia and instruction while keeping my typical extracurricular activities strictly professional."

He has now transformed into Professor Jonathan Moore after he left his life in the US.

In some of the final moments of the third season, Joe killed his wife and left their baby Henry behind - with viewers unsure if Joe was just going to leave the baby forever. However, showrunner Sera Gamble has promised it will be an "ongoing conversation".

"That's going to be an ongoing conversation, because no, you can't pretend something that huge about a character didn't happen," Gamble told E! News, "I think it will shape him from this moment forward.

"And even his exact plan of when and if he would return for his son is something that we will ... if we get to the writers room...come together and talk about for hours and hours and hours between snacks."

*Part 1 of You Season 4 launches on Netflix on February 9th and Part 2 on March 9th.
