First ever Kirkcudbright Fringe to take place in autumn 2023

A three-day cultural celebration will be taking place in Kirkcudbright in the autumn.

More than 35 different acts will be performing at 15 venues during Kirkcudbright Fringe, which will run from September 1 to 3.

The website for the event was launched this week by co-founders Gerry Hassan and Chris Walker, with the fringe offering a diverse and dynamic line-up of musical acts, comedy, theatre, dance, spoken word and visual arts.

Part of the celebrations will include marking the 50th anniversary of both The Wicker Man film and Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.

Gerry said: “We’re delighted to finally be able to announce the launch of the first ever Kirkcudbright Fringe. We have created in our first year a programme and experience which is contemporary, diverse and fun, reflecting the depth and dynamism of arts and culture in Scotland and the south west of the country.

“Myself and Chris are confident that the range of performers, events and venues will offer something for everyone in the town, Dumfries and Galloway and Scotland.”

The event promises plenty to keep everyone entertained thanks to incredible music and comedy to the vibrant visual arts and performance pieces.

Established venues, as well as pop-up spaces around the town will be used, with the full programme now available at www.kbtfringe.co.uk.

Physical programmes will be available from August 1.
