GREENS candidate Bryce Ham has announced he will stand in the Lake Macquarie council election with a focus on securing the city's reputation as one of the best places to live in the state.

The community campaigner, sustainable transport and environmental activist will stand as a Greens candidate come September for the first time, after he stood as an Independent in 2021.
