Firm behind plans for Castlefield apartments with luxury villas on top collapses into administration

The company that had planned to build an apartment building in Castlefield with luxury villas on top has collapsed into administration.

The proposals for No1 Castlefield were first outlined by De Trafford in 2016 but work has never started on site. More than 400 flats had been planned for land in Ellesmere Street complete with penthouses with rooftop gardens.

However Rick Harrison and Howard Smith from Interpath Advisory have now been appointed joint administrators to De Trafford No1 Castlefield Limited. The company is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) within the DeTrafford group which had been formed to construct the No1 Castlefield development.
