Lasers and fireworks will light up the night sky at Newcastle Racecourse on November 4 at a special event just ahead of Bonfire Night.
A Fireworks and Funfair Racenight is inviting families to make the most of an evening at Gosforth Park which will also include circus-theme performances plus glitter artists and face painters to entertain the children. As an added attraction, those aged 17 and under can be taken along for free.
General admission tickets for adults to the event - which will see gates open at 2.30pm for the day's racing with the main entertainment to follow - cost £15. The main focus will be a laser and firework display "of epic proportions" and, from a countdown at 7.30pm, this will be choreographed to hit songs and will run for 15 minutes.

There also will be funfair rides, fire-breather shows, stilt-walkers and 'walking pet' balloons as well as a live music stage with a DJ host. The funfair rides must be paid for in cash while the food and drink outlets will take card and these will remain open until 8.30pm when the event ends.
Visitors wanting more than the warm snacks, hot drinks and refreshments available at the on-site outlets have an option to upgrade to a hospitality package which incude various meal options.
Because the event is expected to be very busy, the city racecourse is advising people to take public transport or to car-share. For tickets to the Fireworks and Funfair Racenight see here and for more Bonfire Night events around the North East see here.
