Firefighters were battling a huge blaze that broke out near a petrol station in Midlothian on Friday evening.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews raced to the scene near the Shell Garage on Mayfield Road, Dalkeith, at roughly 7.15pm after being alerted by concerned residents.
Five appliances were in attendance and part of the road has been sealed off, Edinburgh Live reports.
A video of the inferno showed a building completely engulfed by flames, sending large clouds of smoke billowing into the sky.
Local Chris Keppie first noticed the site was on fire just after 7pm, which he says is a former caravan storage space.
The Edinburgh-based decorator said: “The fire service are doing a cracking job. It did look like they were struggling to get water at one point and had to get it from a few streets up.
“But they are doing a brilliant job.”
An SFRS spokesperson said: "Fire crews were alerted to a fire on Mayfield Road in Dalkeith at 7.15pm.
"Crews mobilised five appliances and two specialist resources before extinguishing the fire at 00.05am.
