Firefighters tackle major blaze at recycling centre near Dublin Airport

Firefighters battled a major blaze at a recycling centre near Dublin Airport last night.

The fire broke out in the St Margarets area just after 11pm. Three fire engines and the foam and environmental unit were dispatched to the scene while Dublin Airport Fire and Rescue assisted by suppling crew and one of their RIFTS.

Dublin Fire Brigade said they worked with the facility's staff to break the piles with hydraulic grabbers so firefighters could extinguish the fire. An Garda Siochana helped manage traffic while firefighters tackled the blaze.
