A rescue operation was launched after four people became trapped in a Liverpool ONE sports shop.
Fire engines from Liverpool City and Toxteth stations were called to JD Sports on Paradise Street shortly after 2.30pm today, Friday March 31. On arrival, firefighters found the group stuck inside the lift.
Firefighters could be seen entering the shop with wooden wedges at around 3pm.

The people were released from the machine unharmed, a Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said.
Crews left the scene at 3.12pm.
