A firefighter was injured after the fire truck he was travelling in crashed on Monday.
The incident happened at Hawkinstown in Duleek, Co Meath, at around 7.15pm on Monday evening.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene of the single-vehicle crash.
The man, who is in his 40s and a member of Meath Fire Service, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda to be treated for his injuries.
The road was closed for a short while but has since reopened.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí attended a single vehicle RTC that occurred at Hawkinstown, Duleek, Co Meath at approximately 7:15pm last night, Monday 28th February 2022.
"A male in his 40s, and sole occupant of the vehicle was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda to be treated for his injuries. The road was closed for a period but has since reopened."
Both Meath County Council and Meath Fire Service confirmed that one of their emergency vehicles had been involved in a road incident.
Meath Fire Service said on Twitter: "@MCCFireService can confirm that one of our vehicles was involved in an accident near Kilmoon Cross this evening.
"No other vehicles were involved. One crew member was taken to hospital. The person is in a stable condition and their family has been notified."
