Firefighter false alarms set to be reduced as West Lothian has higher than average

A new rule, which will see firefighters no longer rushing to automatic alarms until they are double checked, has been delayed slightly.

It is set to make a difference in West Lothian where false call outs are higher than average.

Scottish Fire & Rescue Service (SFRS) rules on attending automatic alarms were set to change in April but have now been put back until July, councillors heard.
