Since 1987, Marco Assante had been driving through the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles in search of his dream house. After a long wait, he finally found it. However, his dream turned into a nightmare when a recent fire swept through the area, destroying his beloved home.
Returning to the remnants of his house on Thursday, Assante sat on a swing overlooking the ocean, contemplating whether he would rebuild. Having lived there for eight years, the loss hit hard for him and his wife, who he mentioned was feeling scared.
