Fire crews raced to a Fife field as a huge blaze spread rapidly through farmers' crops earlier today.
Emergency services attended the fire in Pitscottie and Ceres, near Cupar after plumes of smoke were seen billowing across the sky at around 3.10pm.
It's believed there has been widespread damage to crops with farmers seen trying to move hay bales from the fields, according to eyewitnesses.
Firefighters are believed to still be at the scene this evening.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.11pm on Tuesday 9 August to reports of a fire in a field at Newbigging of Ceres, Cupar.
“Operations control has mobilised four appliances to the location and are currently extinguishing the fire.
"There are no reported casualties.”
