Fire crews put out blaze at popular fish and chip shop in Heaton

Fish Heaton Gills Police Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service

Fire crews tackled a blaze at a fish and chip shop on a Newcastle street on New Year's Eve.

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene on Chillingham Road in Heaton following a report of a fire at Gills fish and chip shop at 16.47pm on Saturday (December 31).

Three fire engines were sent to scene and remained there for approximately an hour. Thankfully, nobody was injured in the blaze.
