Fire breaks out at home as emergency services fill street

Fire engines filled a street after a blaze broke out in a home in Bootle.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service received a 999 call at around 3.22pm on Wednesday, May 31, following reports of a house being on fire on Bulwer Street in Bootle. Nine minutes later five fire engines arrived at the scene and found a two-storey semi-detached house was well alight.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus went into the building to fight the fire with high pressure hoses. Due to the spread, firefighters separated into different teams to fight the flames.

The electricity was also isolated in the property to keep people in the area safe. All people in the house were accounted for and no injuries have been declared to Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service.

"Five pumps and an aerial appliance are in attendance. Crews arrived to find a two-storey semi-detached house involved in fire.
