FIR against seven for cheating overseas job seekers in Navi Mumbai

NAVI MUMBAI: Navi Mumbai Police have filed a case against seven individuals for allegedly defrauding overseas job seekers of Rs 81.75 lakh over the past four months, as reported on Tuesday.

The accused established an office in the Kharghar area and promoted overseas employment opportunities from August to November this year.

During this period, they amassed Rs 81.75 lakh from 113 victims, providing them with counterfeit plane tickets and other falsified travel documents. Regrettably, none of the victims secured any employment. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.

Authorities suspect that numerous job seekers may have fallen victim to the tactics employed by the accused individuals, identified as Ravi Singh, SK Singh, Sonia Sharma, Ali Siraj, Sandeep, Samar Khan, and Aditya Singh.

A case has been registered, encompassing charges of cheating, forgery, and criminal breach under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. The police are actively conducting further investigations into the matter.
