Great North Run the Great North Run

The 43rd Great North Run saw thousands of participants battle through showery conditions.The renowned half-marathon, which begins in Newcastle and travels through Gateshead, South Tyneside, and South Shields, attracted about 60,000 participants.Thousands of fans lined the route with umbrellas to support friends and family, despite the bad weather.

There were some pretty familiar faces at the run, including broadcaster Adele Roberts, Sara Davies from Dragon's Den, and North-East mayor Kim McGuinness.
