Square Enix's highly popular action role-playing game, Final Fantasy XVI, just got an official release date for PC players and there is a playable demo available right now.
The official release date of the game on PC is Sept. 17, 2024, and it will be available for purchase on both the Epic Games Store and Steam.
The PC version of the game is something that many players have been waiting for since it was released as a PlayStation 5 exclusive.

Final Fantasy XVI's PC release will also be arriving as a complete edition, packed with its previous DLCs: Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide.
There was speculation earlier this month that suggested an announcement of the PC port was imminent, according to Eurogamer.
This was when Nvidia's latest driver included a mention of Square Enix's popular game, along with a demo. The latter puts players at the start of the game and data that is stored in it can be carried over to the full game.
The situation comes as Final Fantasy XVI received a generally positive response from the community. However, some longtime fans of the franchise were a bit less keen on the shift from traditional turn-based combat to real-time action combat.
The official release date of Final Fantasy XVI's PC version was made ahead of the Gamescom Opening Night Live presentation. Square Enix also confirmed that this version of the game will cost players $49.99, said IGN.
Despite the two DLCs for the game being available at the launch of the PC version, players who want to play them will have to pay extra.
Right now, it is still unclear whether or not the story add-ons can be bought individually but the studio is offering a "Complete Edition" for $69.99.
A Complete Edition
That particular package will be a complete experience with the base game, both DLC expansions, as well as a few miscellaneous in-game items. The game was originally released last year and work on the PC version was revealed last September.
Fans were happy about the announcement of the PC version as director Hiroshi Takai previously said that it was "impossible" to create both the PC and PlayStation 5 versions at the same time. This is true even if the developer was not restricted by a timed exclusivity clause.
Players are also now able to pre-order the PC version of Final Fantasy XVI on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Since the game was originally launched last year, the studio has introduced several updates to fix a variety of bugs and implement quality-of-life features, according to The Verge.
