Final day for Nottingham McDonald's at Exchange Walk as branch to close

Staff will be serving Big Macs and fries for one last time at a Nottingham branch of McDonald's that will be closing down after today (June 30). Earlier this year it was revealed that the fast food restaurant in Exchange Walk would be shutting.

A spokesperson said: "The decision to close the restaurant was not taken lightly." Members of staff will be relocated to other restaurants.

It is the latest closure in area. Nearby streets Lister Gate and Wheeler Gate have suffered multiple losses with the shutdown of big name chains including Clarks shoe shop, River Island, WH Smith and Boots.

McDonald's has three other restaurants in the city centre. Branches in Clumber Street, Victoria Centre and Angel Row will continue to trade as normal.
