FILMING for a popular BBC drama is set to take place in Renfrewshire next week.

Napier Street in Linwood will be partially blocked off on Wednesday, June 17, from 7.30am to 7.30pm.

This is to allow film crews for Rebus to take over the Linwood Welfare and Social Recreational Club.

The production will block off a few areas on the street for parking, and may hold traffic using stop / go boards for particular scenes.

No road closure is expected.

The acclaimed drama, which is returning for a second series, fronted is by Richard Rankin and based on the best-selling novels by Ian Rankin.

He will be joined by new cast members including John Michie, Stephen McCole, Emily Barber and Lorne MacFadyen.

The returning cast also includes Brian Ferguson, Lucie Shorthouse, Amy Manson and Stuart Bowman.

Written by Gregory Burke, the second series delves deeper into the character’s conflicted personal life and professional challenges, exploring connections between violent crime and the worlds of law and finance.
