Fifita beats 'very hard times' to make Australia debut

David Fifita has credited his resurgence from a tough 2025 season to Australia debutant in the space of 12 months to a full-circle career progression under two coaches who have always believed in and supported him.

The 26-year-old second-rower had a stellar 2026 season at new club South Sydney under Wayne Bennett, who gave him his NRL debut in 2018.
