Another day, another error from EA Sports, with a FIFA 23 FUT Champions rewards mistake meaning players who took part this week could receive free Ligue 1 TOTS Player Picks.
The FIFA 23 Team of the Season (TOTS) promo has been live in Ultimate Team for the last few weeks, with the Ligue 1 TOTS squad currently in Packs alongside the Turkish Super Lig squad. The biggest promo in the FUT calendar has not run smoothly from EA's perspective though, with a bunch of errors in recent weeks leading to the publisher having to issue compensation in-game multiple times.
EA has twice released TOTS players days before their official release as well as wrongly including TOTS items in Packs, but their latest mistake is on the other side of the scale, with some Ligue 1 TOTS players not being included in the FUT Champions Player Pick rewards.
During the TOTS promo, FUT Champions rewards include TOTS items, with players guaranteed TOTS Player Picks for picking up a certain amount of wins. But, three players in the Ligue 1 TOTS squad were not included in the rewards, meaning EA must now hand out compensation to impacted players.
FIFA 23 FUT Champions players to get free Ligue 1 TOTS Player Pick rewards
With the Ligue 1 TOTS in Packs, FUT Champions would've been extremely busy this week with players desperate to try and earn the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi from their Player Pick rewards. But, more than likely they would've missed out on this trio and probably received Dean-Clair Todibo and Remy Cabella instead.
But, EA confirmed on their @EAFIFADirect Twitter account in the early hours of May 31 that Wissam Ben-Yedder, Marco Verratti and Moussa Sissoko were not available for selection in the FUT Champions Player Picks, meaning what you were opening is now what you should've been getting.
In a two-part Tweet, EA stated: "We have recently resolved an issue where Sissoko, Ben Yedder and Verratti were not included as part of Ligue 1 FUT Champions TOTS Player Item rewards. Impacted players who previously opened Ligue 1 FUT Champions TOTS Player Items rewards will receive corrected rewards in the coming days."
So, if you won nine or more games and opened your FUT Champions Player Pick rewards before May 31 at 12:24am BST / 7:24pm EDT / 4:24pm PDT, you will receive your Ligue 1 TOTS Player Picks again for free. And that's everyone, so even if you managed to pull Mbappe and Neymar in your Picks, you'll still get free Picks. Pretty cool.
EA state that rewards will arrive in the coming days, though this could mean anything based on their track record with rewarding compensation. After promising the same for an error with a guaranteed Community TOTS Pack, players finally received their compensation over three weeks later.
