OTW players have now received their bonus World Cup upgrades in FIFA 23, whilst 19 players have also completed their domestic wins upgrade so far.
The FIFA 23 Ones to Watch squad was revealed and released into packs at FIFA 23's release, awarding some of the summer's biggest transfers including Robert Lewandowski, Haaland, Sadio Mane, Antony, Gabriel Jesus and Darwin Nunez with OTW items. All but one of the 20 players released have completed the three domestic wins to earn a 'Wins to Watch' upgrade, but with the 2022 FIFA World Cup now underway, players can receive a 'Nations to Watch' upgrade.
With the World Cup falling in the FIFA 23 calendar, EA added a new upgrade opportunity to Ones to Watch players called 'Nations to Watch'. If a OTW player's nation wins a game in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, they will receive another one-time upgrade, whether they were part of the team or not.
The OTW items can also receive TOTW upgrades to their OTW card every time they're included in a FIFA 23 TOTW squad or receive a MOTM player item. Out of the 20 players released, 18 of the players' nations qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with three OTW players having completed their Nations to Watch upgrade in the first group stage game.
