EA Sports has finally confirmed that Kylian Mbappe's POTM SBC will be coming soon in FIFA 23 after days of silence.
It was confirmed last week that Mbappe was crowned the winner of Ligue 1's Player of the Month for November and December, with the Frenchman receiving 39% of the votes to beat Lens' Seko Fofana and Rennes Benjamin Bourigeaud to the award. Any player who wins a POTM award in the Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A, Bundesliga or Eredivisie will receive a special FIFA 23 POTM player item in Ultimate Team, released as an SBC.
But, despite Mbappe being crowned Ligue 1 POTM last Thursday, no SBC has been released yet for the Frenchman, and FIFA 23 fans have been left confused. With Mbappe currently in the FIFA 23 TOTY, players speculated his POTM SBC may never be released. But, it looks like there is no need to fear!
EA Sports confirmed that the Mbappe POTM SBC will be coming to FUT 23 soon, meaning players will shortly be able to get their hands on one of the best players in-game. The confirmation came from @EA_FIFA_France, EA Sports' official French account.
In reply to a comment in French asking for communication on the Mbappe SBC, EA France said: "Il sera dispo prochainement dans le jeu ;)"
According to Twitter translate, this can be translated into English as "It will be available soon in the game ;)."
There's no confirmed date for the Mbappe POTM SBC release yet, but with the SBC meant to be released last Thursday, we predict that the SBC could now be released later today at around 3pm GMT.
With Mbappe's POTM being released as an SBC, it's possible for it to be available at the same time as his TOTY as the POTM item is not in Packs.
FUT fans had been agitating at this delay because If an SBC was available featuring a 93-rated Mbappe during TOTY, it would be much easier to complete the SBC to gain the item, rather than buy packs and try to 'pack' his TOTY item.
With no word or acknowledgment of Mbappe winning the Ligue 1 POTM award, or on the SBC from EA, fans started to panic, thinking it would join FIFA 20's FUTmas Gabriel Jesus as the player that never was. But, it looks like we won't have to wait too much longer.
