FIFA 22 FUT Captains Team 2 leaks, predictions and confirmed squad release date

The FUT Captains promo will continue with the release of Team 2 this week, and rumours suggest stars from Barcelona and Real Madrid could feature.

The brand new FIFA 22 Ultimate Team promo began on Friday, April 8, 2022 with the launch of FUT Captains Team 1, featuring upgraded player items for real-life captains and former captains from major clubs. Team 1 featured upgraded FUT Champions player items for players like Wissam Ben Yedder, Hugo Lloris and Tyrone Mings, whilst also featuring upgraded FUT Heroes items like Diego Milito, Freddie Ljungberg and Antonio Di Natale.

Ahead of the upcoming launch of the FUT Captains Team 2 squad, some social media users have already begun leaking upgraded player items that could feature. Following the conclusion of the FUT Captains promo, the hugely popular Team of the Season (TOTS) promo is expected to begin shortly after in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.

FIFA 22 FUT Captains Team 2 latest leaks

Only a select few players have been reportedly 'leaked' on social media so far ahead of the official release of Team 2. According to @FutSheriff on Twitter, Southampton's James Ward-Prowse, Barcelona's Sergio Busquets and Marseille's Dimitri Payet are all set to feature in FUT Captains Team 2.

A selection of other players are rumoured to be included according to various sources on social media, including @FutSheriff, with all of these players only rumoured to be included, with no player officially confirmed yet by EA. Here is a list of the players that have been 'leaked' ahead of the full release of Team 2.

  • Sergio Busquets (FC Barcelona)
  • Tim Cahill (Premier League/Australia)
  • Joe Cole (Premier League/England)
  • Abedi Pele (Ligue 1/Ghana)
  • Dimitri Payet (Marseille)
  • James Ward-Prowse (Southampton)
  • Jose Fonte (Lille)
  • Christopher Trimmel (Union Berlin)
  • Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus)

It's rumoured that the likes of Chiellini and Payet's upgraded player items could come as Squad Building Challenges (SBCs). Former Everton player and Australia international Tim Cahill is expected to receive an upgraded FUT Heroes player item card as part of an SBC during the new FUT Captains promo too.
