Festy Ebosele is poised to become the latest Irish player to join an Italian club with a move to Udinese on the cards.
According to Italian media reports, the Derby County youngster is in Udine to complete a medical ahead of a move this summer as he will be out of contract.
Wexford lad Ebosele has made 22 appearances for Wayne Rooney’s Rams this season but the Championship club are in administration and powerless to hold onto players.
Providing the move goes through, winger Ebosele will join James Abankwah at Udinese following his recent move to the Serie A club from St Pat’s.
The defender has been loaned back to the Saints for the start of the League of Ireland season before moving to Italy in the summer.
Last week, Cork City teenager Cathal Heffernan joined AC Milan on loan with a view to a permanent move.
And Kevin Zefi signed for Inter Milan from Shamrock Rovers at the start of the year.
Ebosele joined Derby from Bray Wanderers in 2018 and progressed through the under-18 and under-23 ranks, making his league debut against Norwich in April 2021.
