Over 60 people had to be rescued from a 400ft-tall ferris wheel after the ride terrifyingly cut out mid-air.
A ferris wheel at ICON Park in Orlando, US, lost power on New Years Eve and left 62 guests trapped inside the pods - with firefighters having to come to their rescue.
Orange County Fire Rescue were called to evacuate dozens of people left mid-air on the 400ft ferris wheel.
Randy Pryor, an eyewitness at the park, said on Twitter: "Lights were visible in the cars for a short time, then a massive shower of sparks flew from the wheel.
"Power was then lost to almost all of the cars. Massive response from Fire department."
All riders were rescued safely and no injuries were reported.
ICON Park said in a statement on Saturday: "The Wheel lost power Saturday night and we’re working with the Orange County Fire Department to safely evacuate guests."
The ferris wheel, which took three years to build, was opened in 2015 and has air-conditioned pods
It's not the first time ICON Park has had problems with their rides.
Back in March 2022, 14-year-old Tyre Sampson tragically died after falling to his death off Orlando FreeFall.
The teenager, who was was on holiday with another family when he was thrown 430ft off the ride, was revealed to be nearly 100 pounds over the ride's 287-pound weight limit.
He had been previously turned away from other rides due to his height.
Tyre told his friends next to him something was wrong on the ride as it descended, he said: "I don't know man, if I don't make it down, safely, can you please tell my momma and daddy that I love them."
An investigation into Tyre's death revealed the operator of the ride did not give the appropriate warning to him about the risks of someone his size going on the tower ride.
In addition, the operator failed provide an appropriate restraint system.
His heartbroken dad, Yarnell Sampson, revealed his son didn't sign up to his death, he said: "I'm trying to give the proper respect to the dead. He deserved that because he didn't sign up to die.
"He signed up to ride a ride and have fun and it led up to something else, that was my only child. That was my everything.
"He would have been 15 years old. He was born Aug. 17, 2007. When he was born, he was a star to me. He always will be a star."
The investigation concluded the operator of the ride made "manual adjustments" to two seats in order to get Tyre on the ride.
His dad added: "The things that happened here were out of the ordinary. Seats being adjusted after inspection after a permit – that was out of the ordinary.
"It was out of the ordinary that the young people who were operating the ride had not been properly trained, that was out of the ordinary.
"It was out of the ordinary that the signs with regard to height and weight requirements were not posted so that Tyre could make his own decision – that was out of the ordinary."
The ride has remained close ever since the tragic accident.
