Fermanagh man in intensive care after 'cardiac arrest' on US holiday

An Enniskillen man is in hospital in America after falling suddenly ill while on holiday in Los Angeles.

Pauric Kettyles is in intensive care with his Mum and girlfriend out with him currently.

In a condition update on a page set up to help with his medical bills, his sister Zara said the 24-year-old was in a stable condition, with doctors believing he suffered a cardiac arrest.

"Pauric's condition is currently stable and the care he is receiving is exceptional. We overwhelmed by the support from all you and we can never thank you all enough," she wrote.

"At the moment the doctors believe it was a cardiac arrest but we have no definite answers at the moment, we are remaining positive and Pauric's family and friends in LA are keeping us updated all the time.

"Please continue to keep Pauric in your thoughts and prayers."

Pauric is a player with Enniskillen Town United Football Club, who also sent their best wishes to their team mate and fellow clubman.

"All at the club were shocked and saddened to hear the devastating news that our team mate and friend Pauric had suffered a sudden illness whilst on holidays," a club spokesperson said.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family and to Dara (another club player), who was with him.

"We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he returns home soon where he belongs.

"We have shared his go fund me link on our club page and would be sincerely grateful for any donation to help ease the costs of his medical bills."

The GoFundMe page set up to help with his bills has raised an incredible £38,000 in just 13 hours, after being shared by Molly-Mae Hague.

The former Love Island star is believed to be friends with Pauric's partner and shared an appeal for help on her Instagram stories.

The GoFundMe page set up to help with Pauric's medical expenses can be found here.
