A campsite in Co Fermanagh has been named as the best in Northern Ireland and Scotland by a top UK guide into the industry.
The AA Caravan and Camping Guide for 2023 named the Rushin House Caravan Park in Belcoo as the top site for the two regions this week.
Run by local husband and wife duo Cathal and Brenda O’Dolan, Rushin House has been a popular spot for more than a decade on the shores of Lough Macnean.

Speaking to MyFermanagh, Cathal said it was a significant accolade for a campsite which began life as a farm 16 years ago.
“The AA come out and judge it by their standards, it came totally out of the blue. They arrived during the summer and we didn’t even know they were there,” Cathal said.
“They look at your facilities, talk to people on site and the only reason we knew they had been was because they left their card at reception.
“Next thing we knew we got an email to say we were to get the award, it’s a great accolade for a small site like ours that started out as a farm 16 years ago."
The campsite owner added that it was a mixture between the picturesque location and hard work to keep the place in top shape that led to the recognition.
“We’re blessed in that we have a fabulous location here on Lough Macnean,” he said.
“It’s a mixture of both the beauty of the place and the fact that we look after the site here.
“It can be hard work, we open St Patrick’s weekend through to Halloween and we’re there 24/7 and you can’t let your standards fall.”
