Viewers praised war reporter Fergal Keane for sharing his experiences of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The BBC special correspondent spent over 30 years reporting from conflict zones.
The journalist revealed that he had been diagnosed with PTSD in January 2020 and announced that he would leave his role as BBC's Africa editor. The documentary focuses on Fergal's own experiences with PTSD and what it is like living with the disorder.
He discussed the "addictive part" of war reporting and the symptoms he experiences. Fergal said: "There is a set of symptoms, whether it's twitching, and having nightmares or flashbacks. It is a place of extreme fear is how I would ultimately define it."

Fergal also said that his sleep is affected by the horrifying images of war he has seen. He shared the nightmares he has experienced with viewers including "lying underneath a pile of bodies" and seeing "animals devouring human corpses".
