Felicity Kendal, 76, insists using Botox at her age is 'good manners not vanity'

Felicity Kendal reflected on the 'shocking' reaction people had to her Botox use.

The 76-year-old actress recently left fans lost for words when she made an appearance on The One Show.

She previously opened up about her enjoyment of undergoing botox treatments and other anti-ageing techniques.

And now, the actress admitted she cares more about looking 'presentable' than appearing younger than her actual age.

In a new piece for The Times, she explained: "Do I care about what I look like at 76? Not really.

"I like to look presentable, as my mother used to say, but that’s good manners, not vanity."

She added: "I have talked about using Botox in the past and it seemed to cause such a fuss — as if it’s some shocking modern phenomenon.

"Humans have been preening themselves for thousands of years: tattoos, corsets, the dandies with their powdered wigs."

The Good Life star once told the Sunday Times magazine that she was a fan of Botox, explaining: "I do it every six months, then you don't get the terrible little frown line."

When she appeared on BBC's The One Show this month, fans were in awe over her looks.

The Good Life star chatted about her new play Noises Off, which is currently touring theatres across London.

The star spoke about her time working on the show and said that she's looking forward to more touring.

"Life on the road when you're with lovely company is heaven on earth. You go out, you have a drink and a meal afterwards and then you stagger back to work the next morning and go again.

"It's lovely because we went to some lovely theatres and the audiences were nice. I mean, when it doesn't work then you don't like touring, but when it works it's a joy."

Fans were too distracted by her youthful appearance and took to social media to compliment her.

Felicity was born in Warwickshire in 1946, 12 years after her elder sister Jennifer.
