Felicity Jones is to star in and executive produce the first official scripted series based on Formula One.
The 41-year-old actress - who just bagged herself a Golden Globes nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Erzsébet Tóth in 'The Brutalist' - is poised to lead the drama 'One' by Amazon MGM Studios for Prime Video.
According to Variety, the series is about a failing F1 racing team and is in the early stages of development and has not been "ordered" just yet.
Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby - who were behind the 2006 Oscar-nominated dystopian thriller 'Children of Men' - will write and executive produce.
Felicity will executive produce with her brother Alexander Jones under their Piecrust Pictures banner.
Formula One has become increasingly popular with new generations of fans falling in love with watching the global races; largely thanks to Netflix's documentary series 'Formula 1: Drive to Survive', which first aired in 2019, and the huge followings of racing champs including Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, and Max Verstappen.
Brad Pitt, 61, is also set to star in the sports action-drama film 'F1' next June.
The movie directed by Joseph Kosinski will see the Hollywood star and F1 fanatic portray retired racer Sonny Hayes, who is forced to drive in other disciplines after a horrific crash and ends up mentoring Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) for the Apex Grand Prix team.
Netflix also splashed a whopping $170 million on the Brazilian miniseries, 'Senna', which is based on the life of racing driver Ayrton Senna, played by Gabriel Leone.
Meanwhile, Felicity has just signed on to star in ‘100 Nights of Hero’.
The ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ actress will join Emma Corrin, Nicholas Galitzine and Maika Monroe, and Richard E. Grant in the upcoming adaptation of author Isabel Greenberg’s 2016 feminist fairy tale.
The film - which is being directed by Julia Jackman - will follow neglectful husband Jerome who makes a wager with his friend Manfred (Galitzine) that if he can seduce his wife Cherry (Monroe) within 100 nights, his pal can keep his castle.
However, what Jerome doesn’t know is that his wife is in love with her maid Hero, as played by Corrin.
