Federal agents have intercepted more than 615,000 gallons of biodiesel that investigators say was being routed to Cuba through a scheme designed to slip past U.S. economic sanctions. The cargo — spread across 90 separate freight consignments and valued at approximately $2.8 million — was stopped at two of the country's busiest commercial shipping terminals: Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and the Port of Houston in Texas. The Department of Homeland Security announced the enforcement action, describing it as part of an expanding crackdown on fuel flows to the Cuban government.
