Federal prosecutors are set to charge an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer who was accused of shooting a Venezuelan immigrant and then lying about it.

Officials at Donald Trump’s Department of Justice allegedly blocked prosecutors from pursuing more severe charges of civil rights violations against the agent, 52-year-old Christian Castro, despite objections from prosecutors overseeing the case against him.
