Federal safety regulators are telling parents to stop using Girigi magnetic building blocks immediately and throw them away, after one child swallowed roughly 50 magnets that had come loose from the toy and required surgery to remove them and repair holes in his small intestine.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the warning on August 27. The blocks were sold on Amazon for between $10 and $16 and were manufactured in China. The Chinese seller, listed by the agency as mushanjiaju(dongguanshi)youxiangongsi, has not agreed to an acceptable recall.
