Federico Valverde, Nicolo Barella and Nat Phillips linked with transfers in latest Liverpool rumours

We are now two weeks into the transfer window as the rumour mill churns out the latest gossip surrounding Liverpool.

The Reds are targeting midfield reinforcements this summer following their disappointing campaign and have already added Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion. Liverpool players are expected to return to action at the beginning of next month and reports continue to claim that the club are targeting numerous fresh faces.

It has been reported by the ECHO that Khephren Thuram is among the targets with Ryan Gravenberch, Romeo Lavia, Manu Kone and Gabri Veiga on the shortlist. The Bayern Munich midfielder Gravenberch was apart of the Holland U21s side that was knocked out of the European Championships as the French and Spanish contingent continue their pursuit.

Lavia faces an uncertain future at Southampton following their relegation to the Championship but the 19-year-old misses the tournament through injury. Below is the round-up of players mooted with Liverpool switches.

Federico Valverde

According to reports, Liverpool are said to have €90million (£77m) ready to offer for the services of Real Madrid midfielder, Federico Valverde.

The Uruguayan midfielder has been linked with a move away from Los Blancos recently following the arrival of Jude Bellingham plus the extensions of stalwarts Tony Kroos and Luka Modric.

One of the clubs said to be in the queue is Jurgen Klopp's side. Following their encounters in the Champions League, the Reds know all about the tenacious attributes he possesses.

That is according to a latest report from Spain, which states Liverpool are willing to put forward £77m for Valverde, a proposal the La Liga giants would find 'very diffcult to refuse'.

Already this month, the 24-year-old has forcibly denied any moves away from the La Liga giants. He said: “No, no. I’m at Madrid and I’m trying to enjoy every moment and leave my mark on the best club in the world."

Benjamin Pavard

Liverpool have stole the march on Barcelona, Real Madrid and Champions League finalists Inter Milan, according to Calciomercato Web.

The Bayern Munich defender has been linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena this summer as he enters the final 12 months of his contract in Bavaria. One of the clubs mooted previously was the Reds but it had initially cooled down.

Until today with the Italian outlet claiming Inter had their sights on low-budget reinforcements but now Liverpool are 'above all' the competition.

Nicolo Barella

Meanwhile, Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur via the same outlet (Calciomercato Web) claims Manchester United have come forward in the race to sign Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella.

The Red Devils are eyeing a midfielder this summer ahead of the upcoming Premier League season. They have been in the hunt to sign Mason Mount but have had three approaches knocked back, other reports suggest they've turned their attention to alternatives including Moises Caicedo.

But now, it has been claimed that they are open to making a first offer for the Italian - who has three years remaining on his contract.

Other media outlets in Italy have claimed Liverpool are front of the queue to sign the midfielder. It was suggested that the Reds were ready to break the bank and make a £68m bid.

Nat Phillips

With talks of incomings dominating the landscape for Liverpool, one player who has been linked with a move away from Anfield is defensive stalwart Nat Phillips.

The defender was close to leaving in January, with Rhys Williams recalled to pave way for a move away, but it was scuppered following an injury in the ranks.

Now, The Athletic have reported that Leeds United are looking to the Premier League to bolster their squad as they brace themselves for an exodus following relegation.

The outlet claims that the Whites are interested in the defender with the Reds looking to earn £10m for his services. With the ongoing hierarchical changes at Elland Road, it has been reported that their pursuit is irrespective of the manager and sporting director appointments.

Nelson Weiper

Reports in Germany are reporting that requests are 'pouring in' for highly-rated Mainz 05 striker Nelson Weiper.

BILD claim that Liverpool have been tracking the youngster for over two years as Jurgen Klopp is looking to bring in the prospect from his former club.

It's been suggested that the valuation of €5m isn't realistic with 'experts' believing they could raise funds of up to €50m.

Several top clubs are monitoring the 18=year-old with Liverpool among them as the Reds are 'really keen'.
