Fears children could be 'wiped out' on one of UK's most 'catastrophic' roads

Villages in Calverton are worried that soon a child will be killed as there is such bad speeding on a 'catastrophic' road in their neighbourhood.

'Boy racers' have been blamed for reaching speeds of up to 60mph in Park Road, which runs past The William Lee Memorial Park which is also home to Calverton Village Hall and Calverton Skate Park.

Yet because of excessive speeding on the 30mph stretch, villagers think it won't be long before an accident happens when children cross the road to get to the park, reports The Nottingham Post.
